About Beetle Buds

Beetle Buds was founded by two insect enthusiasts who noticed the growing disconnect between children and nature in urbanized Singapore. Inspired by the joy our own children felt when interacting with insects, we realized the importance of early exposure to local wildlife.

Concerned about the effects of climate change on these species, we believe something must be done to protect them. Our mission is to inspire a love for Singapore’s fauna through hands-on experiences that foster understanding, reduce fear, and build empathy, ensuring future generations become environmental stewards.

Gideon Beetle

Xylotrupes Gideon Beetle enjoys fruit and hobbies include weight lifting and competitive wrestling
Larve

BEETLE BUDDY 2/IC
Larve is a beetle larva and enjoys indoor activities. She loves weekends as she is able to sleep in.
Pupe

BEETLE BUDDY ASSISTANT
Pupe is currently on a 4 -5 month retreat and will be back soon as a full time teacher soon.
Chalco

BEETLE BUDDY ASSISTANT
Chalco is the best friend of Gideon and assists with the Beetle Buddy classes while not weightlifting
Ducky

ECO-ENGINEERS I/C
Ducky is a recycling enthusiast and doesn't let any food go to waste. She enjoys composting and freeganism to help the environment
Chris

INSECT ILLUSIONIST IC
Chris is from Singapore and he's really shy. Being introverted he enjoys bird watching while hidden in the bushes.

INSECT ILLUSIONIST 2/IC
Kate believes that replication is the key to success. She creates copies of herself in order to multi task

Debbie is a jungle roach and has learnt that the key to survival is to be adaptable to the environment and always be ready
